Uncorking a Never Summer

I had a really old and warn out 174 Legacy that has been sitting in the snowboard boneyard for a few years now. I finally decided to man up and bring it back to life by turning it into a swallowtail powder board.

After many cups of coffee and deciding on the shape, its time to get to work. Start by drilling out the center.

Next, use a small grinding bit to get through the edges.

Then its on to the fun part, make sure your jigsaw is fully charged.

I used a wood file to achieve the final shape.

Apply a little epoxy to the exposed core, and there you go. Swallowtail.

And yes, it rides great in powder and holds an edge like a race board on groomers.
